RE3 Conventions of our genre with specific references to examples
The genre of music we are using is rock music. Bands which have similar sound to our band are bands such as, bowling for soup, blink 182, Green Day and Simple Plan. Rock music often uses electric guitars, acoustic guitars and brum and bass. Brums are used in my music and so are guitars. Dark colours are often used in rock songs such as Simple plan (see video below).
Jeremy
The conventions of rock music video are that the band is shown throughout the video usually performaing but they can be shown in a narrative. It is unlikely to see a rock music video without the band performing, this is usally a part of their image. They sometimes appear as a narrative video for example, in bowling for soup's music video ''When We Die''. Extreme close ups and long shots are also used a lot to show their image. Close ups are useful if the band is wearing make-up. Dark locations are also popular and special effects are used occasionally.

Lyrics
Carry Me Lyrics
Verse 1
It's only 3pm,
Down to the bar, get going again,
This time you can take me home,
Not so easy when you drink alone,
People look at me as if it’s wrong,
5 pm and I'm so far gone,
Bored of here go somewhere else,
Bored of here go somewhere else
1 2 3 4!
I've seen this place, been here before,
I've climbed these stairs, I've walked these floors,
A place like this you won’t forget,
The people here I know I've met,
So sorry, so sorry, don't remember your name
The drugs not me who you should blame
I turn my head and look away,
Tomorrow is a brand new day
Chorus
Take me home I want to go there
Are some things I don't want you to know,
I've had my share, I've had my fill,
So take me home,
(Carry me)
Verse 2
It’s times like these I think I'm fine
It's times like these I think you're mine
Thoughts are running through my head,
I want my home, I want my bed
A thousand people in my way
Let me go I don’t want to stay
Too many times thought this before
I stumble up and out the door
Chorus
Solo

G2 Introduction
Hey!
We are a group of 3 school friends, Jeremy, Jonny and Emily, we all love media studies and also suit different parts of the process of creating a video, in our case Jeremy can act! He is also a, well lets put it this way, self trained editor and don't forget he is our most active blogger. Me, Jonny, I can't act to save my life, so im stuck behind the camera and helping sort out where people should be, last but not least Emily, she's our 'designer', Emily is really interested in album covers, newspaper articles and so she will be taking charge of those aspects of the course! We have all done media studies as AS level and produced different opening sequences.
This is our first time working together as a group however we are all looking forward to seeing the end product!
And that all from me, for now!
